Programme Overview

The SASSCAL Graduate Studies Programme (SGSP-AFSLM) is a unique regional initiative hosted at Universidade José Eduardo dos Santos (UJES) in partnership with the University of Kassel and Agostinho Neto University.

Key Goals

To improve national and regional capacity in food production technologies, preservation, and sustainable management.

To develop technological, scientific research and innovation skills in the agricultural sector and in sustainable Land management;
To promote the realization of innovative research projects in the field of agricultural sciences;
To train individuals capable of informed intervention in professional activities in the various fields of agricultural sciences;
To foster the development of new products and processes in food processing;
To enhance the capacity to work with people of different cultures and skills;
Promote creativity and innovation, thinking and seeing situations differently;
Technical and scientific problem-solving skills;
Discipline and self-management skills;

General Eligibility

Open to nationals of SASSCAL member countries.

Academic Background

Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Science, Environmental Science, or related fields.

Citizenship

Must be a national of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, or Zambia.

Proficiency

Demonstrate proficiency in English (B1 level certificate required).

Scholarship Funding

Up to €36,000 per Candidate

Supported by BMFTR Donor funds.

  • Monthly stipend (3 years), up to 36,000 Euros per candidate
